MSHA New Miner

Daily training starts at 8:30 AM and finishes at 4:30 PM
Designed to allow members to perform work in the above ground mining industry under subpart 48b or part 46 sand and gravel mines.
Asbestos Abatement Supervisor
40HR
Renewal: 8HR, annually
Classroom and hands-on training in the remediation techniques and safety used in abatement. Certification pertaining to CFR 1926.1101.
Students shall pay $100 license fee by the first day of class to be eligible for training.
Grade Checking IV, GPS

PRE-REQ - Grade Checking III, Advanced Grade
Daily training starts at 8:00 AM and finishes at 4:30 PM
Hands-on course designed to familiarize grade checkers with GPS set up and field usage.

Rapid Plan

PRE-REQ: Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS)
Computer aided design and development of temporary traffic control plans using Rapid Plan software. Must have medium-level computer competency.
Traffic Control Supervisor (tcs)
16HR, renewal: 4 years
PRE-REQ: LiUNA Work Zone Safety Certification, 4,000 hours of experience or existing IMSA TCT Certificate or ATSSA TCS Certificate
Description: The 16-hour Traffic Control Supervisor course is designed to help the supervisor create a safe roadway construction work zone for workers and travelers by applying guidelines and developing structured processes for implementing internal and external traffic control plans. Participants gain critical knowledge in the types of traffic control devices and how they are used, set up and dismantled.
Pipelaying II

An intermediate level course on the installation of water, sewer, and storm drain systems. Participants will work in real time with equipment, learn about trench safety, and installation practices.

Grade Checking III, Advanced Grade

Civil plan reading, advanced grade computations, horizontal and vertical curves, super elevated curves, volume computations, and line and grade for pipe.

WORK ZONE SAFETY (WZS)
16HR, renewal: 4 years
PRE-REQ: None
Description: Work Zone Safety course teaches participants about highway work zone hazards and actions workers can take to protect themselves while performing highway construction work. Participants learn about dangers associated with construction equipment, the types of roads and conditions that impact safety, traffic control zones, traffic control devices, hand-signaling devices, and environmental hazards. In addition, participants learn how to perform flagger duties safely and effectively.
Hazardous Waste Worker Renewal

PRE-REQ - Current Hazardous Waste Certification
Safety and health orientation for containment and cleanup of hazardous waste. Certification pertaining to CFR 1910.120. Highly recommend for all Construction Craft Laborers.

Aerial Lift & Rough Terrain Forklift

Daily training starts on Wednesday at 8:00 AM and finishes on Friday at 4:30 PM
Safety, Inspection, and operation for rough terrain forklift and aerial lifts - MEWP (mobile elevating work platforms).

Hoisting & Rigging Renewal

Renewal: 8HR, every 3 years
PRE-REQ - Current Hoisting & Rigging Certification
Daily training starts at 8:00 AM and finishes at 4:30 PM
Emphasis on up-to-date regulatory changes, renew rigging and signaling skills. Upon successful completion of this course individuals will receive recertification.
Rough Terrain Forklift Renewal

Safety, inspection, and operation for rough terrain forklift. Successful completion will result in recertification.

Foreman Training

TAPS Construction Training

Daily training starts at 8:00 AM and finishes at 4:30 PM and goes from Monday through Friday with weekends off.
Various types of forms and forming systems used in concrete placement as well as structural steel erection, wood working, and oxy-acetylene/plasma cutting.
